OK. I know I promised, pledged, and swore I would write something everyday until, what was it? May 22? But you see, the thing of it is, I’m in New Orleans with one of my best friends and I haven’t been writing at all, except for an occasional Facebook update on our activities. There has been so much to do and see (my first trip to the Big Easy) and we’ve been going strong from morning until night! Even meals are an event (so many world-class restaurants — so little time). When I get back to Denver, I will upload a few of the pictures of the paddle-boat ride and some of the other sites we saw yesterday. We still have a cooking class, a ghost walk, and much more music to listen to before I head home.
Last night, we had dinner at Dickie Brennan’s, where we received roses to commemorate Mother’s Day. It was one of the meals that goes into my memory as among the most memorable (along with my first Kobe beef at the Kyoto Hotel in Koza City, Okinawa in 1974 or the sumptuous southern dinner at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House in Lynchburg, Tennessee in 1992). From the before-dinner martini to the bananas foster bread pudding, delicious!
